I don't know if you've heard the news, but DC is doing a huge reorganization,
and one of the consequences is that the Wildstorm imprint is being killed off, cancelled, no more Authority or Wildc.a.t.s. or anything Wildstormish. The bottom of the article DOES have Didio and Lee saying that the characters (some of them, anyway) will be merged within the mainstream DC universe after a long hiatus. (Given DC's efficiency, um, that could be years before we get any new material.)
So stock up now on your back issues. They may not be around much longer.
The whole thing is so sad.
is a new comics rec community, in the style of crack_van
We're looking for recers of all stripes! Recer sign ups are now open for:

Rec, read, and savor the crack.
Hey, all. A troll under the account of lycon78
has been hitting multiple comms and posting graphic pictures of porn, human remains, etc.
He posted here a few minutes ago. I deleted the entry and banned him.
Wildstorm, The Authority/WildcatsContinuity:
Some random time after the Grifter/Midnighter team-up, possibly during Wildcats v.4 (not that that really exists or anything)Rating:
Written for thedevilchicken
's request "What I really
want is the weirdness that is Grifter/Midnighter." (here
)Disclaimer: here ( Having fun? )
So I picked up WildCATS: Armageddon today. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to. Despite my objections to Nemesis being in the spotlight, I was relieved that Grifter and Zealot got a good amount of screen-time, as it were. The rest were pretty much shuffled into the sidelines, sadly, but maybe that'll change with Revelations.
I also got Authority Prime #3, and the Spotlight on Gen-13. I still stick to my guns that WildCATS 3.0 aside, Gen-13 has, and has had, the best comic book covers ever.
There are RUMORS on the INTERNET that after Revelations, WildCATS may be finally launching into issue #2. GASP! I'll believe it when I see it. Though I'd rather Joe Casey and Dustin Nguyen take it over again, personally.
A few things:
1) Would anyone be interested in helping me create a WildStorm Wiki? I know there's WildStorm stuff on regular Wikipedia, but not nearly enough, and there are a lot of holes. This Wiki would contain characters, teams, locations, etc. All in one handy place. This would be a big project, but the payoff would be awesome.
2) What would you like to see more of in this community? (Other than, yanno, life
.) More scans? Character/Storyline discussion? Art? Fanfic?
3) And finally, for those interested in writing/role-playing, we are still looking to expand our WildStorm group over at dear_multiverse
. You can find me there as the_grifter_
Thanks for your time!
Okay, seriously. Things are getting Nucking Futz over at WildStorm. Check this shit out
."The final chapter of Armageddon is here, as Void takes the Coda warrior Nemesis to the post-apocalyptic future to see what became of the Wildcats. She quickly discovers Los Angeles is a very different and far more dangerous place as she fights her way toward the HALO building...and the horror outside can't match what she finds inside!"

So, out of any
of the WildCATS characters you could have picked to star in the Armageddon issue...you pick NEMESIS
? WTF, WildStorm? Who do I have to go smack to get you people to act right? This is ridiculous.
So, who's reading the Armageddon stuff? I am, but...I kinda feel like I'm either missing something, or this isn't packing the punch I had initially expected.
A long time ago (perhaps last year) I wanted to have an icon/userpic of Orlando. I searched for them, but to no avail. Then, today, I thought, 'Why not make my own Orlando icons?' So I did:
1. 2. 3.
You can use these icons as long as you credit me and where I'm from (eg, 'My beautiful userpic was created by someone from LiveJournal whose name was Rolando8'). You can also edit them, eg add words to one of my icons. Enjoy!
Stormwatch PHD is cancelled after the Armageddon issue.
Wetworks is rumored to be next.
And Hi i am new, i have been reading wildstorm comics since (the original) Stormwatch #1 and i currently read all the wildstorm universe titles.
Sadly, Gail Simone is leaving the Gen-13 title. She's being replaced by Simon Oliver (THE EXTERMINATORS) as writer. As much as I hate to see her go, I'm glad someone with some cred is taking the helm. I'm sure things'll work out okay.
Gen-13: Armageddon hits shelves Nov. 28! Woohoo!
WetWorks: Armageddon hits Nov. 21.
Tranquility: Armageddon on Nov. 7th.
I picked up Alan Moore's Complete WildC.A.T.S. trade the other day. Of course, nothing new there, but still cool to have it all in one place.
Anyone else pick it up?
So, I heard it through the grapevine that Gail Simone is leaving Gen-13 after issue #13. Is there any truth in this? And if so...WTF, Gail?
Saw a couple of things on the comics news sites that I don't think have made it over here yet.
Newsarama has an interview with Christos Gage
, on the identity of *that* shadowy figure in Stormwatch PHD
#5. For my money, it's Warren Ellis.
More Gage news: CBR's report on Emerald City ComicCon
includes an announcement from Darick Robertson, recently of The Boys fame, that he'll be drawing issues #5-10 of The Authority
- with Christos Gage as writer. We all should live so long.
So I was flipping through the Spotlight on JSC, and noticed something about Batman/Gen 13. Did this ever happen?
